Vulcan B.2 XH558 was first delivered to RAF Waddington on July 1, 1960 and was the last Vulcan in service. On retirement, it was sold to the Vulcan Operating Company, and was flown to Bruntingthorpe on March 23, 1993. VOC worked on returning XH558 to flight, supported by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust, a supporters and fund raising organisation. The remaining 1.2m target was finally reached on August 31, 2006, thanks to a publicity campaign by its supporters from The Vulcan to the Sky Trust and extra funding from the National Lottery. The first post-restoration flight finally took place on October 18, 2007. After raising the necessary 150,000 the test flight programme was resumed, but still requires 50,000 each month in order for the aircraft to maintain flight status. Donations can be made at http://www.justgiving.com/vtts. XH558 made its public air show debut at Waddington on July 4, 2008
