Between 1960 and 1969, we saw the production of both, the Austin Se7en Van, the pictured Austin Minivan, and the Morris Minivan. The van differed to its saloon counterpart, hosting a wheelbase typically 4 longer, and overall length 10 longer.

The Mini car was already renowned for its spacious floor pan, but the van sported an even more spacious interior. The double swinging rear doors and its original price tag of 360 made it a popular choice for many utility and service providers, including the modelled Somerset Fire & Rescue teams of the 1960s.

Today, the Devon and Somerset Fire Service is the largest Fire Department in the UK with 82 stations, servicing 1.6m residents across 100km.
