Starting out as livestock hauliers in the early 1960s, in the 1970s H. Wragg Transport Ltd diversified in to pallet distribution, before losing one of its major customers, but winning two major food contracts. Today, Harrys son Malcolm, runs the business. The bulk of the fleet comprises 44-tonne MAN TG2 460hp and 480hp tractor units, hauling 13.6m x 4.4m curtain-sided trailers. Though, the latest addition to the fleet is a Mercedes Actros, which was converted from new to operate on Verdant Fuel (made from European-sourced rapeseed oil) and chosen on the recommendation of Elsbett, the company manufacturing the system to enable it to do so.
