The term ambulance comes from the Latin word ambulare, meaning to walk or move about. The word originally meant a moving hospital, which follows an army in its movements. Original reference material of a Bristol Marine Ambulance was used to model this J2 Van. This forward control J2 van was in production between 1956 and 1967 and was powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine. The Morris and Austin J2 vans are ever-popular models within the Corgi range, heralding the early days of light commercial vehicles, which, in their day were used for a variety of low payload duties, and were available in minibus, pick-up and chassis-cab form.
